Description: Do a 45-minute drum circle.
Welcome – 10:00
Goal: Have fun playing drums.
Go around the circle and have everyone introduce themselves.
Go over drum circle etiquette.
Go over hand signal.
Stretch.
Introduce the Djembe – 10:10
Djembe performance demonstration.
Give a brief history.
Bass tone.
Open tone.
Slap tone.
Play Around – 10:20
Game: Hide and Seek – 10:25
Ask one person to volunteer to leave the room while everyone in the drum circle hides an object. When the person returns, the drum circle has to guide him or her to the object by playing loud and soft rumbles.
