In the Drum Rudiment System , Lionel Duperron suggests the following drum warm ups:
- Soak your hand in warm water for 10 minutes.
- Stretch your fingers, then your wrists, then your shoulders, then your calves. Remember: Any sharp pain means don’t do that.
- Spin your sticks to get the blood flowing.
- Practice difficult rudiment patterns.
The purpose of your drum warm up is to relax physically and mentally so you can perform at your full drumming capacity!
