I had the pleasure of seeing George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars this past Saturday night at Lehman College in the Bronx. Despite a security staff that didn’t seem too cool with the crowd getting out of their seats to dance, we made our way to the stage and were a few feet away from Uncle George.

There were several highlights of this performance for me:

1. Kim Manning (Peaches from the VH-1 show, The Flavor of Love and one of the P-Funk backup singers) was on roller skates.
2. King Poo Poo Man (yes that’s his name) handed us his business card.
3. I had to wait an hour for the show to start. This was a luxury because P-Funk shows tend to start 1-2 hours after they are scheduled to begin.
4. Rico Lewis, his newest drummer is truly an inspiration to watch. This guy is has a great timing and amazing energy.
