Dear Friend,

Having truly motivated students is a very powerful thing – absenteeism goes down, productivity goes up, people get along better, and it makes your organization a more exciting place to be.

Unfortunately, finding ways to keep “the troops” motivated can be difficult, especially when many team-building activities have passed the “new and fun stage” and moved right into the “boring and tired stage.”

Are you ready to make some noise?

However, there is a team-building activity that is still fresh, and exciting, and wildly entertaining… and that activity is a Drum Circle.

That’s right, the simple act of having your students gather in a circle and bang out a beat can be tremendously uniting, motivating, and downright fun.

I should know, my name is Mike Veny, and I’m a Drum Circle Facilitator.

I’ve witnessed the effect a drum circle can have. I’ve seen the smiles, and the laughter, and I’ve felt the feelings of kinship and excitement that arose among the participants.

  • Rhythm – Every student rhythm and everything in life has rhythm.
  • Relationships – Each student can sit next to someone they don’t know really well and connect with them.
  • Responsibility – Every single student has an important role in the drum circle.
  • Respite – Everyone needs to take a break and HAVE SOME FUN!

“Thank you for inviting me to participate in one of your group drum circles. Not only did I have fun, but I felt I was learning a new skill as I sat and followed your groove.”
Debbie

“I will remember the laughter and the release of daily tensions and frustrations, the friendly and warm environment. In more ways than ever, these drum circles help me feel like a new person and worthy of my self. I can now say I have a hobby.”

“I will the friends and acquaintences I made. This drum circle has helped me to release stress, it has helped me to listen better to my children, and also it has helped me to feel accepted within the circle.”

“I will remember the unity and joy of all the children. It took grieving children and put smiles on their faces and in their hearts.”
